19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.
His defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an better service.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour title, took control to push for a decider.
The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
